You can convert detail lines to model lines, or model lines to detail lines. Note: If you want to sketch lines that exist in 3D space and display in all views, use model lines. Simply override the Roofs and Floors categories in addition to the Walls category. Use the Detail Line tool to draw detail lines to provide additional information to the model geometry in detail views and drafting views. Note that the same technique can be utilized for building sections to show walls, floors, and roofs as solid. I suggest creating a view template for presentation views and having that view template in your project template file. The walls in that view will now display with solid fills. Pick the OK buttons to exit the dialog boxes. In the Fill Pattern Graphics dialog box, pick the arrow to the right of the Pattern option, then select the Solid Fill pattern. In the column labeled Cut Patterns, select the Override button. Scroll down and select the row labeled Walls. Simply load or insert 3D content directly into your Revit model or CAD drawing. In the Visibility/Graphics Overrides dialog box, go to the Model Categories tab. Browse within the largest BIM library and enrich your project with manufacturer-specific and generic BIM content The powerful search engine allows you to find up-to-date graphic and parametric product information, ready to use in your BIM process. While in the newly created presentation view, type VV or VG to go into Visibility Graphics for the view, or go into the View Properties and select the Edit button next to the Visibility/Graphics Overrides option. You can duplicate an existing floor plan view or create a new floor plan view for this new view. The first step is to create a view specifically for this presentation floor plan. Autodesk Revit provides an easy way to display walls in this solid filled method. While these plotted drawings are typically provided during the schematic design stage of the project, I like to provide these throughout the project for various presentation purposes. The contextual ribbon updates to display the name of the selected object Compare it with 2011 or older Thanks, once again, to George Varghese for providing the base sample used for this post Innovative technologies Get the latest technologies including TrustedDWG, high-resolution monitor support, migration tools, and the AutoCAD. As an architect, I like to provide clients with a “presentation” type of drawing that shows the walls with solid fills so that wall locations stand out and clients don’t get confused by any other linework inside the walls.
